Community fellowship for all
Interfaith Community Services
Based in New York, Interfaith Community Services currently maintains a program of distributing hot, vegetarian meals to homeless people on the streets of the Lower East Side of Manhattan in Tompkins Square Park every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:30 a.m. Although the external form of our work may vary - from literature distribution to feeding the homeless, the purpose of all our endeavors is to inspire others in their faith and in their loving service to God. For the past 25 years, we have been maintaining the food distribution program without missing a single serve-out. We served through 911, the Blackout, hurricane Sandy, and COVID by God’s Grace. We are operating under the promise that anyone who volunteers to help will naturally learn and grow. The concept of directly engaging in service to God is absolutely essential for spiritual character development. Serenity Retreat is an extension of Interfaith Community Services which is a community soup kitchen.
